Last Saturday, the crème de le crème of the movie industry turned out in their numbers to attend the seventh Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards which held at the Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. Expectedly, entertainers made bold fashion statements on the red carpet which attracted diverse comments on social media platforms and knocks from fashion critics.

While many gaped at the sheer perfection of the dress, Nana strutted her stuff for the paparazzi while declaring that she came to shut down the AMVCA. The exquisite outfit got everyone talking on social media and it garnered thousands of reposts and mentions on major fashion websites.With the Covid-19 pandemic currently ravaging the world, the massive attendance at the AMVCA was surprising to some.

Interestingly, one of the most prominent colours on display was green. Actresses, Osas Ighodaro and Meg Otanwa; former BBNaija stars, Mercy Eke, Cee-C, Tacha and Esther, effortlessly made fans not only drool but also green with envy.Asides the glitz and glamour of the night, some Nigerians did not agree with some of the winners at the event.

He wrote on Instagram, “If I was on the AMVCA jury for ‘Best Supporting Actor’, @iamreminisce in King of Boys would have been my pick. Alas, it’s not up to a jury! Welcome to Nollywood! Welcome to the AMVCAs!”His post read in part, “I’m sure most of the organisers are Yoruba. They did not even recognise the original pillars of Nollywood.
