The Ondo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun Corps) has arrested suspects involved in burglary and automobile theft. The agency also apprehended herders accused of violating the anti-open grazing law and forcibly occupying a resident's property for six months.
Suspected criminals allegedly involved in burglary and theft of automobiles have been nabbed by operatives of the Ondo State Security Network Agency, otherwise known as Amotekun Corps , and paraded at the headquarters of the agency. While parading them, Amotekun Corps Commander Adetunji Adeleye, accused the suspects of having destroyed the livelihoods of residents of the state.
According to Adeleye, two persons were apprehended for infringing on the anti-open grazing law, with one incident in Northern Senatorial District and another in Central District. \'We want to place it on record that in recent times, there has been an increase in the destruction of farms by herders, which has led to tension between farmers and herders,' he noted. 'In a particularly distressing case in the Central Senatorial District, herders allegedly drove a homeowner out of her property, warning her not to return under threat of death.' Adeleye further stressed that the herders occupied the building for six months, using it as a grazing and resting ground for over one thousand cows
