Boko Haram insurgents, what do you think is responsible for this?

There is another thing that is causing this; that is the release of those arrested for terrorism. The government has been releasing some of them under the notion that they have been de-radicalised. These same people will go back into the society and start wreaking havoc. I think the government should reconsider its stance on the release of de-radicalised insurgents to avoid reintroducing criminals into the society.

If they argue that it will be abused, is the federal police not being abused? There must be a way to check the abuse. If there is no abuse there won’t be offences. Any law must have checks and balances. When it is abused there must be a remedy.Of course. The South-East had a regional outfit as a test run although not formally launched beforecame on board. Some people in the North also conceived one without the support of the government and traditional rulers.

I still don’t know if the proponents of this recruitment of constables are on the right path regarding community policing. Community police is not a standing force where you go and start recruiting people. It is the involvement of community people to assist the police. It shouldn’t be a standing force where you start recruiting people. It is either I don’t understand them or they don’t know what they are doing.
