The members of Ibeku High School Old Boys Association have alleged that morale decay has taken over their former school. They said this during their meeting in Umuahia, Abia State, alleging that some students of the school were seen converging inside a hideout within the school premises to engage in sex and other ugly activities.

They further alleged that some members of the management team now used official school hours to attend to private school matters. The National President of Ibeku High School Old Boys Association, Ifeanyi Agbai, who is also a retired Permanent Secretary in Abia State civil service, said that the group would not allow their former school to continue the image slide. He appealed to the Abia State government to look into the matter.

Also speaking, the Class Head of 1977 set, Idika Kalu, Class Head of 1985 set, Olugo Okorie and the Class Head of 1978 set of the school, Gbaruko Okechukwu explained that the association was not witch-hunting anyone but was only interested in getting the right things done to reposition the school for better future. The former Class Heads extolled their National President for leading the crusade to restore the prestige of their former school.
