The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arraigned one Ibrahim Yuguda at a Kano State High Court for alleged theft.This was contained in a statement by the EFCC on Monday.The statement revealed that the court before Justice Maryam Sabo charged Yuguda on a one count charge of criminal breach of trust.The charge read, “You Ibrahim Yuguda between April 2018 and February 2019 at Kano The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has arraigned one Ibrahim Yuguda at a Kano State High Court for alleged theft. the jurisdiction of the Kano State High Court being entrusted with certain property to wit: the sum of N10, 800,000 (Ten Million, Eight Hundred Thousand Naira) only property of Mohammed Ibrahim did dishonestly misappropriated the money and thereby committed an offense contrary to section 311 of the Penal Code and punishable under section 312 of the same Law”.Following the charge, the defendant pleaded not guilty while the prosecution counsel Musa Isah requested a date for trial.The statement further read, 'Counsel representing the defendant, Aminu Umar Yakasai applied for bail on behalf of the defendant.'Justice Sabo granted the defendant bail in the sum N2, 000,000 (Two Million Naira) only and two sureties in like sum.The matter has been adjourned till August 16, 2021 for trial.'
