In a new twist to the leadership crisis rocking Umutu community in Delta State, the six family blocs in the town have decided to withdraw their representatives in the Okpala Uku-in-council, the highest administrative body in Umutu.
The family blocs, in anger, met and decided to recall their representatives. According to them, it was glaring their representatives in the palace were only there to promote their selfish interests. This development has crippled the administration of the community. The IPEF member, speaking anonymously, described this as a negative trend in the annals of Umutu leadership, saying greed was at the centre of the crisis. He noted that his group backed the withdrawal of the palace chiefs, promising there was need to start all over again on a new slate.
