Albanese has five weeks to combat Labor’s perennial problem | Roshena Campbell
We are entering the second week of a campaign many people must wish was already over.
But in avoiding the mistakes of three years ago, Albanese is trying to win in a way that runs against the experience of history. If you ask undecided Australian voters to close their eyes and describe what the nation would look like under an Albanese government you might be waiting some time for an answer. It’s not too much to ask given he’s had three years to tell us.The ALP has fallen into the opposition trap of letting a couple of electoral defeats morph into a perennial problem.
That’s why he was at pains in his first election ad to remind us he served as infrastructure minister and as the son of a single mother he “learnt the value of a dollar”.In the past week Albanese has also shared his own workplace struggles with the voters, presumably to show that he gets how tough it is for ordinary Australians.
