Akwa United have resumed training ahead of the 2023–24 Nigeria Premier League season. The Promise Keepers will embark on a pre-season training programme

The Promise Keepers will embark on a pre-season training programme at Uyo Township Stadium.

Twenty players took part in the training session led by assistant coach Effiong Moses alongside other coaching staff of the team. Akwa United are without a manager following the expiration of Ayodeji Ayeni’s contract with the club.Akwa United missed out on a place in the Nigeria Premier League Super Six playoffs and also suffered an early exit from the Federation Cup last season.
