Some of the All Progressives Congress ward chairmen in Akwa Ibom have berated the National Secretary of the party’s Caretaker Committee, Senator John Akpanudoedehe, saying he is behind the party’s electoral woes in the state.
Chairman of the Akwa Ibom APC Ward Chairmen Forum, Saviour Williams, who stated this while addressing the ward chairmen at a media briefing in Uyo, condemned the conduct of the party’s ward congresses. “Regarding the ward congresses, we want to say that there were no ward congresses in the entire 329 in Akwa Ibom state.
”Following, therefore, we affirm the suspension of Dr. Ita Udosen, the State Secretary and entire members of the State Working Committee of the party.“We are also in total support of the position of the State Executive Committee in appointing Pastor Edidiong Idio as Acting State Caretaker Chairman of the party in the state.
The APC National Caretaker Secretary, who spoke through his press secretary, Mr. Ata Etuk, said that those going about telling people that he was responsible for the failure of the party had not considered what Akpanudoedehe had done for the party in terms of the number of senators and governors that had decamped to it in recent times.
