The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) squadron leader and national coordinator of the Road Traffic and Vehicle Inspection Officers Mayors and a prominent civil
society representative on road safety matters, Yusuf John Suberu, has appealed to the new Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Hon Tajudeen Abbas to pay attention to road safety issues.
Suberu, who commended the duo over their emergence as the National Assembly leaders, said their emergence represented a step in the right direction and underscores the significance of experience and federal character representation during this crucial phase of national rebirth. He believes that the emergence of leaders from both the upper and lower chambers will foster stability within the National Assembly.
However, he urged Senator Akpabio and Speaker Abbas to prioritize road safety initiatives, recognising the vital role of traffic in our daily lives. Suberu stressed that road safety should be a fundamental component of the Senate and House of Representatives’ key motions and bills.
