Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, has announced the appointment of Adetunji Adeleye as the Commander of Ondo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps.
The development came a few months after the Bill establishing the Agency was passed by the state House of Assembly and signed into law by the governor.
It was gathered that the process of recruitment into the Amotekun Corps was suspended following the outbreak of the coronavirus disease. But in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Segun Ajiboye, on Wednesday, he said the governor approved the appointment of Adeleye and some other top officials including Toyin Akinmoyo ; Bosun Oladimeji , and Albert Akintoye .In his comment, the Special Adviser to Governor Akeredolu on Security Matter, Jimoh Dojumo, said the newly appointed Commander of Amotekun was a retired Deputy Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
