Lagos Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC) officials, yesterday, arrested 25 highway hawkers in syndicated raids statewide.

The raid was in continuation of the state’s efforts to rid Lagos highways of street trading and hawking.

According to Akinpelu, the arrests were carried out at Cele, Igando, Iyana-Ejigbo, Ikotun, Iyana-Ipaja, Egbeda, and Agege areas of the state by the Agency’s special squad, adding that the exercise would be continuous. She also called for appropriate use of pedestrian bridges strategically erected on major highways to mitigate ‘hit and run’ incidents by motorists.
