Africa: COVID-19 cases hit 1 million, WHO lists 10 most affected nations

The Africa Centre of Disease Control gave the update on Friday.South Africa is the worst-affected country.John Nkengasong, head of the Africa CDC, confirmed that 10 countries account for 80 per cent of coronavirus cases.

They are South Africa, Egypt, Nigeria, Ghana, Morocco, Kenya, Ethiopia, Rwanda, Uganda and Mauritius.“The course of the pandemic in Africa has been much less than we predicted,” said Matshidiso Moeti, World Health Organisation Director for Africa.
