THE Department of Health said on Monday, April 18, 2022, that the administration of second coronavirus disease booster shot is a no go yet until the Health Technology Assessment Council has given its final recommendation.

The Food and Drug Administration approved last week the administration of a second Covid-19 booster dose for frontline healthcare workers, senior citizens and immunocompromised individuals at least four months after the person’s first booster dose. National Vaccination Operations Center chairperson Myrna Cabotaje earlier said they are eyeing to begin with the administration of additional booster doses on April 20, starting in the National Capital Region.

"The second booster dose recently approved by the Food and Drug Administration and being planned for by the National Covid-19 Vaccination Operations Center is our scientific response to waning immunity," he said.
