There seems to be a consensus that leaders or managers are not born but cultivated. One is tempted to disagree with this assertion looking at the way Prof. Fatusi manages people and resources effortlessly and efficiently.
Temi Folaranmi recalled how he met Prof Fatusi a decade ago through the campus health and rights initiative, a campus-based organization that he [Fatusi] founded many years ago, “I was enthralled by his charm, youthfulness, innovative spirit and desire to really mentor young people” Folarin recounted nostalgically.
Describing Fatusi as a mentor through the lens of public health alone will be limiting his infinite capacity to build men and women of substance. As a beneficiary of his mentorship, I can attest to the fact that it is impossible to encounter Prof Fatusi and remain the same.
Immediate past governor of Ondo state, Dr Olusegun Mimiko and his successor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu hold Prof Fatusi in high esteem. In his goodwill message, Mimiko said “Prof. Fatusi is an admirable combination of competence, capacity and character. He has added a lot of value to the University of Medical Sciences Ondo and, the academia generally”
