Aderemi urges Babalola to mediate in crisis rocking Ekiti council of traditional rulers
The crisis which was triggered by the appointment of the Alawe of Ilawe Ekiti, Oba Adebanji Alabi , as the Chairman of the Ekiti State Traditional Council, led some aggrieved monarchs to proceed to court to seek the nullification of the action taken by Governor Kayode Fayemi.
Fayemi had appointed Oba Alabi as the Council Chairman to serve for a period of two years following the expiration of the tenure of Oloye of Oye Ekiti,Oba Oluwole Ademolaju. But reacting to the development yesterday, Omoba Aderemi who is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Autofit, said that the traditional institution was very sacred and “we must be careful so that it may not cause anarchy in the fountain of knowledge.
” My advice to the monarchs is to stop further action, especially media interviews that could inflame passion and go back home and resolve their differences behind closed door.
