The Osun State Police Command has dismissed Sergeant Adamu Garba (F/NO.467549), the police officer who was responsible for the shooting of Saheed Olabomi
This was made known in a press release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer , Osun State Command, Yemisi Opalola and made available to DAILY POST Friday, in Osogbo.
The PPRO stated that the sacking was done in the best tradition of transparency and accountability after he was tried in an Orderly Room trial in line with the laid down rules and regulations of the Nigerian Police Disciplinary procedure.
She disclosed that the Orderly Room procedure has been forwarded to the Police Force Headquarters, Abuja for necessary action towards prosecution adding that it is believed it will serve as deterrent to other Police officers. She stated that the Commissioner of Police had earlier assured the citizens of the state that he will not condone indiscipline discipline and unprofessional conduct exhibited by any member of the Nigerian Police under his watch adding that members of the public should be law abiding and be rest assured that justice will prevail
Recall that after the shooting, the Commissioner of Police had ordered the immediate arrest and detained the erring officer for disciplinary action.
