Adamawa APC Denies Replacement of Fintiri-Linked Candidates, Calls Rumors Divisive

The All Progressives Congress in Adamawa State has rejected social media claims that candidates associated with Governor Ahmadu Fintiri were replaced in Abuja. Party spokesman Dogo Victor labeled the reports as sponsored attempts to cause crisis, asserting that primary election results stand and the party remains united.

The All Progressives Congress ( APC ) in Adamawa State has categorically denied widespread social media reports alleging that candidates aligned with Governor Ahmadu Fintiri were replaced during a recent meeting in Abuja.

These claims, which have been circulating online, specifically mentioned several House of Representatives members and a prospective candidate. According to the rumors, Dauda Nyampa (Michika/Madagali), James Barka (Gombi/Hong), and Hajiya Ramatu Bello (Mubi North/Mubi South/Maiha) were affected by these supposed changes. The narrative also suggested political maneuvering involving the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, to remove Fintiri's allies, and even claimed that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, intervened to secure Fintiri's own Senate ticket.

The APC State Publicity Secretary, Dogo Victor, strongly refuted these allegations when contacted. He dismissed the reports as sponsored fabrications designed to sow discord within the party ranks.

"Do not mind them. There is nothing like that. Nobody has been replaced with another name. The primary election results remain intact," Victor stated.

He further contended that the source of the disinformation was disgruntled individuals who had lost in the party's primaries, which he described as having been conducted in a free and fair manner. He framed their actions as an attempt to "fan the embers of crisis" but reaffirmed that the APC in Adamawa "remains one family.

" This denial seeks to quell speculation and maintain unity as the party looks ahead to future electoral cycles, including the 2027 general elections. The episode highlights the persistent challenge of misinformation in Nigeria's political landscape, where unverified claims on social media can quickly gain traction and threaten internal party cohesion. The swift official rebuttal underscores the APC's effort to project stability and reassure its members and supporters in the state.

Governor Fintiri, a prominent figure in Adamawa politics, has not publicly commented on the matter, leaving the party's spokesman to manage the narrative. The specific allegations about federal-level interventions by figures like Ribadu and Wike add a layer of national intrigue to what is essentially a state-level party issue. Observers note that such rumors often emerge in the post-primary period as various factions jockey for position and influence ahead of the next election cycle.

The APC's management of this situation will be closely watched to see if it can effectively neutralize internal tensions and present a united front. The denial from the state chapter is a crucial step in that process, aiming to prevent the spread of falsehoods that could undermine the party's structure and morale in a key northern state
