The Arewa Consultative Forum has hailed the signing into law the Bill establishing the Northwest Development Commission by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The National Publicity Secretary of the forum, Prof. Muhammad-Baba, in a statement on Thursday, expressed the forum's confidence that the law marked a new watershed in what will surely be a new lease of life for the people of the geopolitical zone.
' It explained that the Northwest remained at the very bottom of all Nigeria’s developmental indices and living conditions, adding that the region continued to be devastated by insecurity, banditry and associated challenges, and indeed forming the ground zero of insecurity and terrorism.
