Reproductive health expert, Dr. Adewole Adefalu, has said access to information will reduce the rate of maternal mortality and other health challenges in the country.
Adefalu who is also Country Director John Snow Incorporated revealed that through sensitisation a lot of women would be aware about the emerging health challenges.“These two guidelines are essential for us as a country to continue to support women by reducing maternal mortality. Many women are dying every day and until we all collectively work towards innovations that can help us to reduce this mortality we will continue to have challenges as a country.
The government is beginning to look more inwards towards strategies we can use as a country to reduce this mortality. Self-care in itself looks at the opportunity for people to take control of their health and there are basic things you can do that you will not have to get to the hospital,” Adefalu said.
