Access Bank has appointed renowned investment banking professional, Chika Orji, to its Board of Directors. The appointment, effective January 7th, 2023, follows approval from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Mr. Orji brings three decades of experience in professional and board roles to Access Bank . He is a Co-founder and Partner at Titangate Capital Management, an equity firm focused on deep-tech, enterprise software, semiconductors, hardware, and artificial intelligence companies.

He also serves as the Founder and Director of Vitesse Africa Limited, an investment advisory firm specializing in African energy, technology, and infrastructure sectors. Mr. Orji's extensive experience includes serving as an Executive Board member and investor in Ultrasafe AI, an artificial intelligence/IT development firm with strategic partnerships with leading technology companies. He is also a member of the Board of Private Infrastructure Development Group, London, and chairs its Risk Committee. In the past, Mr. Orji held key roles at UBS Securities Limited New York, JP Morgan Securities, London, Diamond Bank Limited, and Arthur Andersen and Co. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Port-Harcourt and a Master of Business Administration from Harvard Business School. \\Paul Usoro, Chairman of Access Bank, stated that Mr. Orji's appointment stems from his exceptional professional, academic, and corporate board experience. Usoro expressed confidence that Mr. Orji's contributions would enhance the decision-making process, leading to greater value for customers and stakeholders. Commenting on the appointment, Usoro emphasized the bank's commitment to upholding the highest standards of corporate governance and communicated the decision to all relevant regulatory authorities in accordance with internal policies. He welcomed Mr. Orji to the board and expressed optimism about his role in propelling Access Bank towards becoming one of the top five African banks in the shortest possible time.
