The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has written a letter to the state House of Assembly, seeking the consent of the lawmakers to extend the tenure of the local government transition chairmen.
Abiodun disclosed that he was desirous of elongating the chairmen’s tenure by another three months after their initial tenure had lapsed on April 17, 2020.
Abiodun, in a letter dated 13th April, 2020 and sent to the state House of Assembly, explained that the extension became expedient to avert a vacuum in the local government administration in the state. The letter read, “As you may be aware, the tenure of the present local government transition committees expires on April 17, 2020.
