Abia: Gov. Ikpeazu reveals plans for journalists
w of information and put in place measures that will allow journalists do their work in an atmosphere that is safe and secure.
Welcoming the leaders of the Nigeria Union of Journalists from across the country to Abia State, Ikpeazu who was represented by his Deputy, Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, assured the gentlemen of the pen profession that his administration will continue to support the work of journalists, because, Press Freedom remained a key aspect of the democratic process.
According to the Governor, “Two journalists from the Ministry of Information were recently elevated to the position of Permanent Secretaries in the State Civil Service. This is a clear indication of the seriousness with which this government takes journalists”.
