The kidnappers, according to sources, have demanded N30 million ransom to free the victims.
The victims were said to have been aboard a Toyota Hiace bus belonging to Eleojo Transport Service marked KSF 19 XZ from Warri in Delta State with 16 passengers heading to Anyigba in Dekina LGA, of Kogi State.
A source, who pleaded anonymity, said that the vehicle departed Warri with 16 passengers, four of which disembarked at Okene.The vehicle along with others was said to have run into the kidnappers around Itobe in Ofu LGA, Kogi State. The driver however was said to have escape being kidnapped and later reported the incident with the Police at the Itobe Division.Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relation Officer Kogi State Police Command, Mr. Williams Ayah said that the incident occurred at Itobe.
He however stated the police could not ascertain the number of those kidnapped, adding that the anti-robbery squad are already on ground to rescue the victims.
