A victim of an attempted kidnapping for ransom died in Katsina State while receiving medical treatment for gunshot wounds sustained during a shootout with armed bandits. Police rescued 14 victims from the attack, which occurred on Sunday along Magama Jibia road in Jibia LGA.
A victim of abduction for ransom died while receiving medical treatment after gunshot wounds by armed bandits in Jibia Local Government Area of Katsina State. It was gathered that the deceased was among two rescued victims who had suffered gunshot injuries and were rushed to the hospital for immediate medical attention by the police in the state.
He said that although efforts were ongoing to arrest the fleeing suspects, the Commissioner of Police in the State, CP Aliyu Musa, urged members of the public with useful information on suspected criminal activities to promptly report to the nearest police station. He further commended the officers’ exceptional display of gallantry and dedication to duty, charging them to sustain the tempo.
