Rev. Fr. Anthony Adikwu, the Catholic Priest of Otukpo Diocese, who was kidnapped last Thursday by gunmen in the Ohimini Local Government Area of Benue

The gunmen had, around 7 pm last Thursday, invaded the St. Margaret’s Parish in the Ajegbe Awume community of the local government and abducted the priest to an unknown destination.

Men of the Operation Zenda Unit were able to track down the suspects and successfully rescued Adikwu. SP Catherine Anene, the state Police Public Relations Officer, while confirming the incident, said that the priest was rescued on Tuesday.
