The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has released the video of his visit to the leader of Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), Sheikh Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat. The human rights activist who shared the video of him and the Shiites leader on his Twitter page on Saturday, said, “With Sheikh El-Zakzaky the great leader of the Shiites movement in Nigeria and his amiable wife, Zeenat.”

October 8, 2022Sowore had visited the Shiites leader and his wife shortly after a Kaduna State High Court discharged and acquitted the Shiites leader.

Meanwhile, the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Nigerian government has continued to withhold the passports and other travelling documents of the scholar and his wife to enable them seek medical treatment abroad. The judge in his judgement held that the charges filed in 2018, under the Kaduna State Penal Code, 2017 over offences allegedly committed on or about December 12, 2015, are incompetent and amount to an abuse of court process.
