The African Action Congress (AAC) has expelled the Rivers State governorship candidate, Dr. Joseph Ngechu Obele and the party's House of Assembly candidate for Tai Constituency in the state, Kingsley Dimkpa over anti-party conducts.
This was made known in letters separately written to the duo, dated March 24, 2023, and jointly signed by Ken Henshaw, Chairman, State Steering Committee African Action Congress, Rivers State Chapter and Oshiokhue Philip Ikpeminoghena, Member, State Steering Committee of the party, Rivers State chapter, in accordance with Section 81, sub-sections 2 and 3 of the party's constitution.
“Constitution and the Undertaking you undertook as a Candidate of the Party. As a consequence of the foregoing, the State Steering Committee, by virtue of Section 81, sub-sections 2 and 3 of the Party's Constitution hereby expel you from the Party with immediate effect.” The letter continues: “In the event that you are aggrieved by this instant decision, you may appeal the decision as provided for in the relevant sections Party's Constitution.
