I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.
Borderlands 4 was recently announced with a teaser trailer fans have been trying to decipher, but now Gearbox is starting to roll out abalancing a new entry in the series with classic aspects fans want, but past that, we got some actual concept art from the game. You can see those images scattered throughout this article but there’s more to discuss as well.
It has also been confirmed that there will be four brand new Vault Hunters in the game, which is not the biggest surprise, given the history of the series, but you may have thought after all this time maybe they would bring back a fan-favorite. Not so, though I’m sure many will show up as NPCs. They will continue to embody various archetype with past examples of “soldier” and “mage” for characters like Axton and Lilith.
At least from the sound of it, it does not appear that Borderlands 4 will significantly break its model somehow with say, player-created characters or a grand vault into being an MMO or fully live game. But we don’t know for sure yet, and the demands of ongoing revenue are more pressing than ever in the industry. And despite being out in 2025, we do not have a release date or even a release window at this point for the game. More to come.
