Heading into this game, the Sixers sit in second place in the Eastern Conference with a record of 4-1. As for the Wizards, they are in last place after starting the year 1-4.and company look to keep their winning streak going, here are some key talking points heading into the matchup.In the last game against the Suns, Tyrese Maxey kept his strong start rolling by notching 22 points and a career-high ten assists on his 23rd birthday.
After having some time to dwell on these remarks, Maxey's play out of the gate will be something to monitor. While he's capable of putting up big scoring numbers, he's still trying to adjust to being a full-time point guard once again.By far, one of the most shocking storylines for the Sixers this year is the play of Kelly Oubre Jr. After signing with the team just before training camp, he's managed to have a big impact through the first five games.
At first, it seemed like a flash in the pan, but Oubre continues to put up stellar numbers. He is currently averaging 21.0 PPG on 53.6% shooting from the field and 44.8% from beyond the arc. Now playing in the starting lineup while Nurse adjusts his rotation, Oubre has a chance to attack mismatches playing off of Embiid and Maxey.As everyone knows, the NBA season is long and has its dog days.
