A total of 730 returnees evacuated by the Federal Government from the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates and Sudan arrived in Nigeria on Saturday.

This was made known by the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, which explained that 332 Nigerians arrived from London, UK, while 311 and 87 had earlier arrived from the UAE and Sudan respectively.

According to the agency, the 332 evacuees from the UK took off from the Gatwick Airport, London UK and arrived at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos on Friday, August 8, 2020, at about 7:40 pm local time via Air Peace Airline. It added that those who returned earlier from UAE came in through Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja, also via Air Peace Airline at 11: 50am while Sudan returnees flight landed at the same airport around 09:15am via Air Sudan.

NIDCOM stated that some of the evacuees disembarked in Abuja, while others proceeded to Lagos, adding that they are to embark on the compulsory 14- day self-isolation as regulated by the Federal Ministry of Health and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control.handle said, “332 evacuees arrive Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos from the Gatwick Airport, London UK today, August 8, 2020, at about 7:40 pm Local time via Air Peace.

“Flight with 311 Evacuees has arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja at about 11:50HRS from the United Arab Emirates, today Saturday, 8th of August 2020. “Some of the evacuees disembarked in Abuja while others proceeded to Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. They all tested negative to COVID-19 and now on a 14-day self-isolation as mandated by the NCDC, the FMoH and Presidential Task Force on COVID-19.”NIDCOM had earlier said, “87 stranded Nigerians arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Int’l Airport, Abuja at about 0915HRS via Air Sudan today, Saturday 8th, 2020.”All rights reserved.
