The Modibbo Adama University, MAU, Yola has formally graduated a total of 5,545 students who have completed their courses of studies in various disciplines. Of the number, 53 made first-class results; 1,143 second class upper; 2,376 second class lower; 682 third class and 28 pass degrees.
Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Abdullahi Tukur who gave the figures during the 28th Convocation ceremony of the university on Saturday, said there were 'a total of 5,545 candidates in all, made up of 458 diplomas, and 4282 in the Bachelor's degree category.' He added that 41 of the graduands would receive post-graduate diplomas, 630 Masters degrees and 134 Ph.Ds.
The graduands were all those who finished their academic programmes in the 2022/2023 academic session and a few who graduated earlier but could not be part of last year's convocation ceremony. Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri who was represented during the convocation ceremony by his Deputy, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, commended the MAU VC Abdullahi Tukur for his successes with activities, including convocation ceremonies.
