No fewer than 35 medical doctors in Kwara State have so far tested positive for COVID-19 pandemic, it was gathered on Monday.
Nigerian Medical Association Chairman Dr. Kolade Solagberu told reporters in Ilorin at this year’s annual general meeting of the association.Chancellor and Chairman of Council of Benue State University Prof. Zacharys Gundu has also tested positive for COVID 19.This is coming barely a week after the BSU Vice-Chancellor , Prof. Godwin Achinge, died of the virus.He added that he is now in an isolation centre and receiving treatment.
Dr. Solagberu told the state’s residents that COVID-19 is real, urging them to disregard rumours saying the pandemic was only a money-making avenue for the government. The NMA chairman lauded the Federal and state governments for continuous closure of schools, adding that safety should be paramount until the coast is clear.
