The speaker congratulated the state governor and the people of the state for attaining 32 years of existence and prayed to God to continue to bless the state with success and peaceful coexistence.
He noted that Yobe State was carved out of Borno State on August 27, 1991 by the regime of General Ibrahim Babangida with its capital in Damaturu. According to him, Yobe State shares boundaries with Borno State to the east, Gombe State to the south, Bauchi and Jigawa states to the East and border with Niger Republic to the north.
He also acknowledged the efforts of the founding fathers of the state and its subsequent leaders for the appreciable socio-economic and political development recorded. The speaker, enumerated various developmental drives put in place by the state governor Mai Mala Buni in all facets of human development within the last four years of his stewardship.
