30 countries adopt one-stop-shop for COVID-19 information –WHO
The World Health Organisation says 30 countries and several international partners have signed up to support the COVID-19 Technology Access Pool, meant for sharing scientific knowledge, data and intellectual property in efforts to beat back the pandemic.
According to WHO, C-TAP is a sister initiative to the ACT Accelerator, established in April, to speed up the development of vaccines and other tools against the pandemic, noting that it was first proposed in March by president Carlos Alvarado of Costa Rica. WHO described C-TAP as “a one-stop-shop” that will be voluntary and based on the principle of solidarity.
