Three abducted ad hoc staff recruited by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, for the conduct of the governorship and state Assembly elections in Katsina State, weekend, have been reportedly freed.
The INEC staff were reportedly said to have been kidnapped at Danmusa local government area, while two security personnel, CPL Mannir Usman and CA2 Umar Aliyu with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corp, NSCDC, were killed by hoodlums in Danmusa and Kankara local government area of the state respectively.
Spokesperson of the Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, confirmed the release of the people Sunday night by their abductors.According to him, “the three abducted INEC ad hoc staff were released by their abductors on Sunday and have been taken to Danmusa Hospital for medical checkups and later rejoined their respective families.
