The Delta State Police Command has arrested a 26-year-old barber simply identified as Christian for allegedly defiling a three-year-old toddler in Asaba, the Delta State capital.

The suspect, who hails from Obiaruku in the Ukwani Local Government Area of the state, was said to be residing in the same compound with the toddler’s aunt.

The Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, said the suspect was in the police net for allegedly defiling a toddler.gathered that the toddler was born out of wedlock while her mother who remarried gave the child to her aunt.It was learnt that the suspect lured the girl with biscuit into his apartment where he had carnal knowledge of her.

A source, who confided in our correspondent, said that the aunt discovered that the toddler had been defiled while bathing her on the evening of the same day. “The little girl was crying while her aunt was bathing her, and the aunt upon checking her, found bloodstain.The source said that Christian denied having anything to do with the toddler but a neighbour alleged that he saw Christian carried the girl into his apartment.All rights reserved.
