The world union of professional footballers, FIFPRO, released a statement on Tuesday on behalf of Nigeria’s Super Falcons, confirming that it would assist
the players in a disagreement with the Nigeria Football Federation concerning bonus payments, camp allowances, and expenses, some of which date back to 2021.
This comes after the Super Falcons’ elimination from the Round of 16 of the ongoing FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand on Monday. Samoura insisted that the prize money would be “ring-fenced” to make sure players got their dues without interference from a third party. “During the World Cup, the players expressed the desire to remain focused on their performance without making public statements or facing other distractions.
