Former Super Eagles defender, Ifeanyi Udeze has claimed Jose Peseiro made the wrong calls with his substitutions against Sierra Leone on Sunday night.
The Super Eagles squandered a two-goal lead but still earned a 3-2 victory which ensured their place in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.The move backfired with the hosts seizing control of the game and netting an equaliser through Augustine Kargbo six minutes from time. Kelechi Iheanacho however scored the winning goal for the Super Eagles in the fifth minute of added time.“For me, he made changes that were not necessary, he made three changes at once which for me was not necessary,” Udeze said on Brila FM.
“Those kinds of changes are when you are down and you need fresh legs you can make three or four changes at once. “You are leading and making three, four changes at once is not necessary except when a player indicates he’s tired or injured then you can make the changes.
