2019 elections: PDP demands INEC’s stoppage of ongoing collation, announcement of results
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Tuesday, demanded for the stoppage of the ongoing collation of results for the presidential and National Assembly elections across the country. The Deputy Director General of the PDP Campaign Organization, Alhaji Tanimu Turaki, said this while briefing newsmen in Abuja.“Our position is based on the available evidence that data on the card readers were tampered and reconfigured”.
He alleged that the results from the aforestated states were arbitrarily manipulated and allocated without elections just to favour the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC. “No actual voting took place Yobe and some parts of Borno states. No single result sheet was even provided”. The opposition party said INEC cancelled the affected results arbitrarily. It also made the same demand for Kogi state where it claimed that the 79,000 cancelled votes were valid.
