The Kwara State Government said on Tuesday that it had strengthened its surveillance at border communities, adding that 16 people were under observation.

Speaking at a news conference, Health Commissioner Dr. Raji Razak said the 16 persons under observation, who are Nigerians, are not showing any sign of illness.

Razak added that the deceased worked in Budo Digai, near Bukuro, in Bwen/Kiyoru ward of Gwanara District, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State. According to him, she was referred to the Republic of Benin on February 16 after admission at a private hospital in Baruten and died on February 17 in Benin Republic.
