No fewer than 14 people, including a four-month-old baby, died on Sunday morning in an auto accident along the Lagos-Badagry Expressway in Lagos State.
Williams Manga, Unit Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps , who confirmed the accident, told NAN that nine others sustained injuries.
The accident, according to him, occurred at the Agemowo axis of the road around 7:31 am when a commercial bus carrying 19 passengers had a head-on collision with a granite truck coming from Badagry. “My men got to the scene and took the injured to General Hospital Badagry, while the dead were deposited at the mortuary of the hospital. Out of the 14 casualties, eight are male passengers, five are female, and one is a four-month-old female child. The accident was caused by the two vehicles’ overspeeding while it was heavily raining,” he explained.
