The Head of Media and Publicity for the EFCC, Dele Oyewale, disclosed this in a press release on Wednesday, stating that the suspects were arrested on Monday, October 7.
The statement reads in part: 'Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, have apprehended 13 suspected internet fraudsters in the Nwaniba area of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. 'They were arrested on Monday, October 7, 2024, in a sting operation following credible intelligence on their fraudulent internet activities.
