A tragic accident on the Benin-Auchi road in Nigeria resulted in the death of 12 passengers. The collision, involving a Toyota Hiace bus and a truck, occurred early Saturday morning. Fatigue is suspected to be a contributing factor.
No fewer than 12 persons have been reportedly burnt to death in an accident that occurred along the Benin-Auchi road.
reports that the accident happened on Saturday, March 1, 2025 at about 5am at Igueoviobo community close to the army checkpoint on the road. The Edo Sector Commander, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Cyril Mathew, who confirmed the accident, said it involved a Toyota Hiace bus and a truck. According to him, the bus took off from Zuba, Federal Capital Territory heading towards Benin but collided with a truck heading towards Auchi, killing the whole occupants of the bus.
