With the inauguration rituals presided over by the Assembly’s Clerk, Taye Jaiyeola, Olamide Oladiji, a lawmaker from Ondo East Constituency returning for a second term, was elected Speaker.
Abayomi Akinruntan, a third-term lawmaker from Ilaje Constituency 1, also emerged as the Assembly’s Deputy Speaker.Oladiji praised Akeredolu for his capable leadership and vowed to ensure good ties between the legislative and the executive. “I’ve been a part of this system for a while, and I am aware that the legislature and the executive must get along well if we are to make any real progress in this state,” he said.
